Fava finished as the Division III national runner-up at 149 pounds, earning All-American accolades and helping the Aggies to a fifth place team finish. This marks his second consecutive All-American season as he finished third as a junior transfer in last year's tournament. Fava entered the tournament as the third seed in his bracket and won his first three matches that included an 8-6 decision over second seeded Derek Arnold of Ursinus in the semifinals, who handed Fava his only Division III loss of this year in the East Regional Finals. Fava finished the season  with a 27-4 record.
