At the MAC championships over the weekend Thomas earned the gold medal in both the men's long jump and the men's triple jump, garnering 2018 MAC Field Athlete of the Year honors as well. Thomas reached 14.57 meters in the triple jump while recording a mark of 7.28 meters in the long jump. That mark in the long jump broke the previous MAC Championship record of 7.25 meters set back in 1993. With the MAC titles secured, Thomas will turn his sights to a National Championship as nationals take place March 9-10 at Birmingham Southern College.
