Rush joined his alma maters coaching staff prior to the 2020-21 campaign. His primary responsibilities include recruiting, assisting in developing practice plans and running practices, coaching lightweights, and assisting with academic support.
During his career with the Aggies, Rush recorded a 79-23 overall record, was a two-time National Qualifier, 2020 NWCA All-American and Academic All-American, 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Champion, two-time Southeast Region runner-up, two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll member, and a 2020 Academic All-MAC honoree.
His freshman year, he went 15-5 overall with two pins at 125/133 pounds. He took first place at the Ursinus Fall Brawl, was named MAC Wrestler of the Week once, and ranked as high as 10th in the nation at 125 pounds by the NWCA.
In his sophomore season, he split time at 125 and 133 pounds again and racked up 19 wins. Rush was nationally ranked and captured his first MAC Championship title at 125 pounds. He followed that up with a runner-up showing at regionals to earn his first trip to the NCAA Championships.
Junior year, Rush competed at 133 and 141 pounds and claimed victory at the New Standard Corporation Invitational. He finished the year with a 13-2 record.
He capped his career with his best season to date which was unfortunately cut short when the National Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rush was 32-3 on the year with 10 pins and took third place at the MAC Championships. He used a second place finsih at the NCAA Southeast Regional tournament to punch his second ticket to the national champinoships. He was awarded All-American and Scholar All-American honors from the NWCA, and was awarded a spot on the Academic All-MAC team.
