Kirkegard enters his second season on the DelVal coaching staff following a standout career with the Aggies.
Kirkegard notched 78 wins while wrestling at 125 and 133 pounds from 2012 to 2016. He was the MAC runner-up and placed sixth at the East Regionals during both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. The 2014-15 campaign saw the Aggies win team championships in both tournaments.
As a senior team captain, Kirkegard won 22 matches and led the way with eight pins. He captured the 133-pound title at the MAC Championships and went on to finish fifth at the NCAA Regionals. He succeeded in the classroom room as well and was named a Scholar All-American while also earning a spot on the Academic all-MAC Team.
Kirkegard graduated in May, 2016 with a degree in business administration.
