A three-time All-American and one of the top wrestlers in DelVal history, Karns joins the coaching staff of his alma mater.
Karns is one of just five Aggie wrestlers to garner All-America accolades as least three times in a career. The 197-pounder finished tied for second all-time in wins with 122 (122-26) with four berths to the NCAA Championships, three NCAA East Regional titles and two MAC crowns.
Karns reached the NCAA tournament as a freshman in 2011 and then, after a year off, won the regional championship and placed sixth at the NCAAs for his first All-America accolade. He reached the semifinals the next year and eventually finished in fourth place with conference and East Regional crowns to his credit.
Last season, Karns repeated as MAC and regional champion and his wins in the championship rounds were a major reason why the Aggies won the team titles at both tournaments. Karns then placed fourth at the NCAAs once again as DelVal had a fifth-place finish in the team standings for the second straight year.
Karns graduated with a degree in business administration from DelVal in May of 2015.
