The 2020-21 academic year will mark Moreno's seventh as head coach of the Delaware Valley University men's and women's cross country and track and field (indoor and outdoor) programs. He joined the Aggie track and field staff as an assistant during the 2014 outdoor campaign before earning the head coach position.

Moreno's first season with the Aggies saw Ta'riq Thomas have a standout freshman track and field season. He was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Rookie of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons as he captured the triple jump title in both. He qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in both the triple jump and long jump and then made the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump. In women's cross country, Moreno saw Samantha Will capture the individual title at the school's season-opening invitational.

In 2016, Thomas again earned All-America accolades, taking third in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He also captured the MAC title in both the long jump and triple jump and was the ECAC triple jump champion.

The next year, Thomas was a two-time All-American thanks to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships and a sixth-place showing at the Outdoor Championships. He also earned MAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year accolades. In women's cross country, the Aggies captured top honors at their annual invitational.

In 2017-18, Thomas picked up three more All-America accolades, including an outdoor runner-up showing in the long jump. He was the MAC and Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year for both indoor and outdoor. Moreno and his cross country teams hosted the MAC Championships.

Moreno also helped coach A.J. Weisgerber to back-to-back MAC Champions in the men's discus throw in 2018 and 2019.

A major contributor to Moreno’s success has been his philosophy of using the Biomechanics Video Analysis Expertise in his training regimen.

Experience is also on the side of the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native. While serving as five-year head men’s and women’s track and field coach at Frostburg State University, Moreno coached 22 Mason Dixon Conference Champions and was the 2005 Women’s Track and Field Coach of the Year. He also had 22 NCAA qualifiers, four NCAA All-Americans, as well as 50 ECAC qualifiers and two ECAC champions.

Moreno was the head coach of both the cross country and track and field programs at Division I Saint Francis University from 2007 to 2009. His 2009 indoor men's track and field squad captured the Northeast Conference (NEC) championship and Moreno was tabbed as the league's Coach of the Year. Moreno coached a combined 26 men's NEC individual champions and 16 women's NEC individual champions during his three-year tenure.

Moreno's remaining coaching experience includes assistant stints at Division III schools University of Wisconsin-Platteville and SUNY Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY). He competed for NAIA Adams State College and helped set a 4x400 record back in 1993.

Moreno moved onto Plattsburgh and received a bachelor of arts degree in spanish in 1995. He then earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland in 1999 and a master of science in education from Wisconsin-Platteville in 2000. His master's thesis was “Guided Imagery Use by Distance Runners” to enhance athletic performance at the national level. Moreno completed his doctorate degree coursework in administration and leadership studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2019.
