A 1990 graduate of Delaware Valley University and a member of its Hall of Fame, Hogan is coming off her 25th year as her alma mater's head coach in 2019-2020. She is the program's all-time victory leader with 271 triumphs and has led the Aggies to 11 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom playoff berths, six Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) playoff berths and one ECAC South Region Championship.
Ten of the MAC Freedom postseason berths have come in the last 19 years, beginning with the 2000-01 campaign when Hogan directed that squad to the program's most successful season. The Aggies won 21 of 27 games, qualified for the Freedom Conference playoffs and captured the ECAC title. The team notched a school-record 11 straight victories to begin the year and the standout season also produced the school's first All-American basketball player (male or female) in Alisa DiBonaventura.
The following year, Hogan led the Aggies to 16 victories, including an upset win over No. 7 King's College in the Freedom Conference semifinals to put the team in the conference championship game for the first time in school history. They were also selected for the ECAC playoffs. The Aggies continued their knack for upsetting nationally-ranked teams with a triumph over No. 7 University of Scranton in 2003 and a victory over No. 20 DeSales Univeristy in 2004.
The 2005-06 campaign saw Hogan's team go 17-9 overall and 9-5 mark in the Freedom for the best regular-season conference record in her tenure. The Aggies also earned a semifinal berth in the Freedom Conference playoffs. In 2007-08, the Aggies had another postseason berth where they dropped a narrow decision in the semifinals to eventual Freedom champion and Sweet 16 participant DeSales.
In 2009-10, Hogan led DelVal to a 17-10 record and a berth in the Freedom semifinals, where it fell to eventual conference champion DeSales. The Aggies were then selected as the top seed for the ECAC Championship and they dropped a last-second decision to eventual champion Juniata College in the quarterfinals. Two players earned special awards from the Freedom Conference as Kim Vennera was the Player of the Year and Emily Soper was the Rookie of the Year.
The 2013-14 season saw Hogan and the Aggies picked to finish in the bottom half of the conference. Instead, they won 15 games and qualified for the Freedom and ECAC playoffs. In the Freedom semifinals, they held a late lead at undefeated FDU-Florham (the latest the Devils trailed in a game all year) before falling to the eventual NCAA Division III champions. Hogan was named Coach of the Year and Eireann Anastasi earned a spot on the all-region team.
DelVal made return trips to both the Freedom semifinals and the ECAC quarterfinals in 2014-15 and 2015-16 as the team won 26 total games during that span. In 2015-16, the Aggies returned just one starter but Hogan led the team to the two playoff appearances, earning MAC Freedom Coach of the Year honors in the process. Anastasi was chosen the conference's Player of the Year as well as the D3hoops.com Atlantic Region Co-Player of the Year. She was also selected to three different All-America teams.
Hogan took over the program at her alma mater in 1996 after the team had won just three games the season before. By year number three, they were in the playoffs. That season, the 1998-99 campaign, saw Hogan lose her starting center to an injury in the preseason, but rallied her squad for an 18-9 record and the team's first trip to the postseason since 1993. They reached the quarterfinals of the MAC playoffs and the championship game of the ECAC Southern Region playoffs. Hogan was rewarded for her efforts as she was voted the MAC Freedom's Coach of the Year, and was was also a nominee for the Middle Atlantic Region Coach of the Year Award.
Hogan was a three-time team MVP and MAC-Northeast Section all-star during her playing career. She earned MAC-Northeast Section MVP honors following the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons. Hogan was also named an ECAC South Region all-star on two occasions and was voted its MVP in 1988-89. She graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,413 points (record surpassed since then).
The Aggies recorded 56 wins, qualified for the ECAC playoffs three times and reached the MAC playoffs on two occasions during Hogan's playing career. She helped cap DelVal's 20-7 season in 1988-89 by leading the team to the ECAC South Region title. In 2018, she was selected to the MAC Hall of Fame for her accolades as a player.
