Coach Jamie

Jamie Stefani

Jamie Stefani '19 was named Head Softball Coach of her alma mater in June of 2021 after putting together the best career in program history. Stefani was named interim head coach in January 2020, two months before the start of the season that was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before being named head coach, Stefani was a graduate assistant while pursuing her MBA.

In 2024, Stefani added to her many accolades at Delaware Valley, as she was named the 2024 MAC Freedom Coach of the Year. After an eight-win season last year where the Aggies only won one conference game, Stefani led her team to a total of eighteen wins this season and six conference victories. The Aggies tied a program high for wins this season and is only the second time DelVal softball won eighteen games since the 1983 season. The Aggie's six conference wins tied for the second most wins against conference competition in a single season for DelVal softball since 2008.

During the COVID season, the Aggies earned a 2-1 series win over FDU-Florham in the first round of the MAC Freedom playoffs. DelVal won the first game on the road, 7-6, and won the rubber match on its home field, 5-3.

After winning just three games in 2021, Stefani led the team to double-digit victories in 2022 and saw two student-athletes named to the All-MAC Freedom team. First-year Madison Donnelly was a second-team honoree and senior Carly Mahal earned honorable mention.

During her playing days with the Green and Gold, Stefani was a leader on and off the field. She starred as a pitcher and played first base when she wasn't in the circle. She served as a four-year team captain, was a four-time all-conference honoree and earned a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll every year. As a junior, she finished third in all of Division III in batting with a .535 average and became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-America honors. She repeated the feat of All-America her senior year, and etched her name throughout the program record book.

A native of Budd Lake, New Jersey, and Mount Olive High School, Stefani is the program's all-time leader in career hits, on-base percentage, batting, games pitched, games won, and strikeouts and holds single-season marks for on-base percentage, games pitched, games won, and strikeouts.
