Delaware Valley Softball Drops Pair to LVC

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Delaware Valley Spftball dropped a pair of conference matchups against Lebanon Valley College, falling 11-1 and 9-2 in Annville.

Game 1 | Lebanon Valley 11 - Delaware Valley 1

Lebanon Valley took control early, scoring two runs in both the second and third innings before breaking the game open with a seven-run fourth. The Dutchmen capitalized on six hits and three Aggie errors to build an 11-0 lead.

DelVal found some life in the fifth when Madison Donnelly doubled to left-center. With two outs, Jillian Collins and Taylor Mazzoni both walked, setting the stage for Sierra Ripka, who delivered a single up the middle to drive in Donnelly for the Aggies' lone run.

Madison Karns took the loss, pitching three innings and allowing eight runs.

Game 2 | Lebanon Valley 9, Delaware Valley 2

DelVal struck first in the opening frame when Ripka led off with a triple to right-center, and Kenzie Boyd brought her home with a sacrifice fly. Angelina Bresnen followed with a single through the left side before Tori Bockrath walked. Amelia Funston then singled to left-center, scoring Bresnen to give the Aggies a 2-0 lead.

However, Lebanon Valley responded quickly, plating four runs on three hits in the bottom of the first to take the lead. The Dutchmen tacked on five more runs over the next three innings, extending their advantage to 9-2.

DelVal looked to rally in the seventh, loading the bases after a Bockrath walk and singles from Funston and Karns, but Mazzoni struck out to end the game.

With the losses, the Aggies fall to 16-7 overall and remain winless in MAC Freedom play. They'll have the week off before facing King's College on Saturday, April 5.
