Hunt Seat Takes on Holiday Tournament of Champions at Centenary

LONG VALLEY, N.J. - The Delaware Valley Hunt Seat Equestrian team returned to the Tournament of Champions Horse Show this weekend at Centenary University, finishing seventh overall at the 35th anniversary of the prestigious event. Sixteen regional champion teams competed, representing a combined 31 national championships and every national champion between 2008 and 2024.

DelVal's performance highlighted strength across multiple riding levels. Senior Grace Allen led the Aggies with a win in Open Fences and a second-place finish in Open Flat, while also placing seventh in the High Medal class. Freshman Keira Larkin captured first place in Intro. Sophomore Maggie Mitchell earned a fourth-place finish in Intermediate Flat, and freshman Tiara D'Amico placed sixth in Intermediate Fences. Freshman Amelia Parsons finished sixth in Limit Flat, Alicia Smoot competed in Limit Fences, and sophomore Elsa Heacock earned a sixth-place finish in Novice.

DelVal tied for sixth overall with Emory and Henry, but following tie-breaking procedures, the Aggies were slotted seventh in the final standings.

Savannah College of Art and Design claimed the team championship, with Skidmore finishing as reserve champions. Final team results were as follows:

  7. Delaware Valley University

  8. Centenary University

Following the holiday break, the Aggies will travel to Savannah, Georgia, to compete in the Winter Tournament of Champions hosted by Savannah College of Art and Design.
