Evans Leads Aggies Past Bryn Mawr 59-42

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team took early command on Wednesday night, riding a team-high 16 points from Whitney Evans to a 59–42 road victory over Bryn Mawr.

The Owls opened the game on a 5–0 run, but a jumper from Ciana Feliciano finally put DelVal on the board and sparked the turnaround. A layup from Evans moments later gave the Aggies their first lead at 8–7. Bryn Mawr managed to tie the contest twice more, but Feliciano and Julianna Harris answered with key buckets to send DelVal into the first break holding a 13–11 edge.

Both teams went cold to start the second quarter, combining for more than two scoreless minutes before Feliciano and Harris teamed up again to stretch the lead to 17–11. The Owls clawed back to within one late in the half, but Evans drilled a three in the final 20 seconds to keep DelVal in front, 26–22, at the break.

Bryn Mawr never got closer than two in the early stages of the third quarter before Evans converted a driving layup that kicked off a 7–0 Aggies run, capped by a Feliciano three. With 2:41 remaining, an Emma Miller jumper pushed DelVal into double digits for the first time, 39–29. The Owls finished the frame on a 5–2 spurt to trim the Aggies' lead to 41–34 heading into the fourth.

DelVal broke the game open in the final 10 minutes, outscoring Bryn Mawr 18–8 and limiting the Owls to just eight points in the frame. A 10–0 run in the first five minutes, highlighted by timely contributions from Harris, widened the Aggies' advantage. The teams traded points the rest of the way, with Ava Irizarry knocking down the final DelVal bucket with three seconds remaining to seal the 59–42 victory.

Evans led the Aggies on both ends with 16 points and seven rebounds. Aubrey Ennis, Feliciano, and Harris each collected three steals, while Alexis Wright and Alexis Lease-Springer both added a block.

DelVal returns to action on Friday, Dec. 12, with a 6 p.m. matchup at Penn State Abington.
