NORTHAMPTON, Pa. - With two shows left in the semester and four remaining in the season, the Delaware Valley Hunt Seat Equestrian team continues to hold first place in the regional standings after another strong outing at Moravian this past weekend.
Senior Grace Allen led the way for the Aggies with wins in both Open Flat and Open Fences, earning High Point Rider honors and qualifying for Regionals in Open Fences. She continues to sit atop the Open Rider standings as well.
Senior Captain Taylor Pruitt also punched her ticket to Regionals with a runner-up finish in Intermediate Flat and added a third in Intermediate Fences. Junior Captain Sophia Frisbie placed fourth in Intermediate Fences and won Limit Flat, qualifying for Regionals in that division. Junior Paige Gatz was fourth in Intermediate Flat.
In Limit Fences, freshman Amelia Parsons claimed a blue ribbon, followed by Gatz in third and junior Rhiannon Swimelar in fourth. Sophomore Alicia Smoot won Limit Flat, while sophomore Maggie Mitchell was second and sophomore Samantha Wills finished fourth.
The Aggies continued their strong form in Novice, picking up wins from sophomores Nevaeh Anderson, Alexandra Adams, and Samantha Shwartz, along with freshman Haydee Stout. Anderson's win secured her Regional qualification. Freshmen Chloe DiMaio and Casey Robertshaw added second-place finishes, while freshman Maggie Gardner placed fourth. Sophomore Kiera Larkin closed the day with a win in Intro.
DelVal is back in the ring this Saturday at the University of Scranton show in Lake Ariel, Pa.
