Hunt Seat Earns High Point Team in Regular Season Debut

RINGOES, N.J. – The Delaware Valley University Hunt Seat Equestrian Team opened its official season in dominant fashion, earning High Point Team honors at Lehigh University's home show. Lehigh finished close behind in second place.

Senior Grace Allen led the way in the Open division, placing sixth over fences before returning to capture first place in Open Flat.

In the Intermediate division, senior captain Taylor Pruitt and freshman Tiara D'Amico represented the Aggies. Pruitt earned second place over fences with D'Amico close behind in third. Pruitt added a third-place finish in Intermediate Flat to cap off a strong day.

The Limit Fences division continued the Aggies' success as junior captain Sophia Frisbie won her class, followed by junior Rhiannon Swimelar in fifth and senior Kailei Makhija in sixth. On the flat, Frisbie earned fourth place, and sophomore Samantha Wills finished second.

DelVal's sophomores shined in Novice, with Elsa Heacock winning her section, Alicia Smoot taking second, Nevaeh Anderson earning third, and Alexandra Adams finishing sixth.

In Pre-Novice, junior Kellyn Meadows took home the blue ribbon, while sophomore Madison Heitman earned another win in Intro to seal the team victory for the Aggies.

Following the strong start, the Aggies return to the ring on Saturday, October 11, when they compete at Lafayette College.
