Mechanicsburg, Pa - The Delaware Valley men's wrestling team is set their final dual meet of the regular season as they travel to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to take on the Falcons of Messiah. After four and a half months of competition, the Aggies will wrestle their final match of the regular season prior to the postseason that consists of the Southeast Regions and the NCAA National Championships both in March.

Delaware Valley men's wrestling enters tonight's match up with a dual meet record of 13-5 and currently have two wrestlers individually ranked top-15 in the nation. All of the five losses have come to teams currently or formally ranked in the top 25 by the NWCA.
Delaware Valley is coming off of an impressive 32-15 win on the road over nationally ranked Centenary. Last week, the Aggies earned a 30-18 win over MAC foe King's in their final home match of the season.
The Aggies will be once again put to the test this season as they will face off against MAC foe Messiah. Messiah currently has one individual wrestler ranked top-15 in the nation and have a dual meet record of 10-10. Last season, Delaware Valley defeated Messiah in a dual meet by a score 30-16. Two years ago, however, the Falcons defeated the Aggies in by a score of 23-21.

Messiah would go on to defeat Delaware Valley by a score of 23-21 on bonus points as both teams won five matched a peice.
Greg Croce would start things off for the Aggies against Noah Rice at 149lbs. In a tightly contested 1-1 bout, Croce would earn the match winning take down in the final remaining seconds to earn a 4-1 victory.

Battle of regionally ranked wrestlers at 157lbs as the third ranked wrestler in the Southeast Region first year Nick Delorenzo would face off against the eight ranked Garret Cornell. Delorenzo would earn a quick take down to take a 3-0 lead. In the second period, Cornell would lock in a cradle and earn a come from behind pin fall victory to give Messiah a 6-3 lead.

Adam Coleman to the second ranked wrestler in the Southeast Region Zach Needles. Needles would notch the first take down and earn a decision win over Coleman.

Sophomore
Luke Moore eight ranked wrestler in the Southeast Region Austin Brass. Brass would notch three take downs and defeat Moore by major decision.

At 184lb, junior
Matt Mushinski would to wrestle fourth ranked wrestler in the Southeast Region Ryder Slayton. Slayton would earn a 15-0 technical fall win to give Messiah a 18-3 lead.

At 197lb, senior
Dan Eckley is coming straight off a nationally ranked win over #13 Keevon Berry of Centenary two days ago. Eckley would earn another important victory for Delaware Valley as he defeated Sawyer Dereszynski by a 10-2 major decision.

At HWT, senior
Isaiah Johnson would return to the lineup in his first match coming off of a month-long injury, as he would match up against 2024 MAC Champion Hayden Benner. Johnson would take a 6-0 lead and hold on to a 6-3 victory.

Malik Asfour earned a technical fall victory over to Tyler Ratledge.

Jacob Blair would earn a pin fall win over Asa Brunk to give the Aggies a 21-18 lead with one match to go.

Gabe Whittington would be faced with a tough task as he matched up against former NCAA All-American and the #7 ranked wrestler in the nation Josiah Gehr. Gerh would go on to clinch the dual meet for the Falcons as he went on to defeat Whittington by technical fall

This match up concludes the regular season for Delaware Valley Men's wrestling. The Aggies finish the season with a dual meet record of 13-6. Delaware Valley will begin the post season when they compete in the 2024 Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by Lycoming College on March 1
