Hunt Seat Takes Home High Point Team and Reserve High Point Rider at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Aggies had an outstanding day at the Rutgers-hosted show this Sunday, winning the High Point team award by an impressive 18 points. Two riders tied for Reserve High Point Rider, and four riders qualified for the Regional Championships. The team also displayed incredible spirit by winning the Costume Contest!

The day started strong with Seniors Evan Holt and Brooke Wolfinger finishing first and second in Open Fences, respectively. Senior Victoria Coale followed with a solid second-place ride in Intermediate Fences. Holt continued his success with a second-place finish in the first section of Open Flat, while Senior Pauline Jodry took second in the following section. Wolfinger and Coale returned for Intermediate Flat, where Coale claimed the win, earning her spot at the Regional Championships, while Wolfinger finished fifth.

DelVal excelled in the Limit division as well, with Senior Morgan Brosius securing the blue ribbon and qualifying for Regionals. Brosius and Holt both tied for the highest score of the day, each earning an impressive 84. Sophomore Sophia Frisbie and Junior Kailei Makhija followed, finishing fourth and sixth in Limit Fences, respectively. In Limit Flat, five Aggies competed, with Sophomore Paige Gatz and Junior Grace Allen both earning wins; Allen also qualified for Regionals in her second division. Junior Taylor Pruitt finished third, qualifying for Regionals as well. Freshman Samantha Wills made her debut, earning a fourth-place finish, while Senior Julianne Jodry also competed.

The Aggies maintained their momentum in the Novice and Intro divisions. Freshman Nevaeh Anderson and Sophomore Rhiannon Swimelar both earned blue ribbons, while Freshmen Elsa Heacock and Samantha Schwartz secured second-place finishes. Junior Sophia Alcamo earned fifth place. DelVal swept the Intro division, with Sophomore Kellyn Meadows winning her section and Freshman Madison Heitman taking the win in the second section.

At the end of the day, Coale and Holt tied for Reserve High Point Rider. After a question-and-answer session on horse and riding knowledge with the judge, Holt was declared the winner. He now leads the Open Rider standings for the region.

The Aggies will be back in action this Saturday at the Bloomsburg-hosted show.
