Aggies End Season With Home Loss to Arcadia in MAC Freedom Playoffs

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley women's basketball team trailed by one midway through the second quarter, but Arcadia strung together a 14-0 run to end the half on their way to a 67-55 win over the Aggies. With the win, the Knights advance to Wednesday's MAC Freedom semi-finals at top-seeded DeSales.

After the Knight's stormed out to a 10-3 lead, Aubrey Ennis, Taylor Richardson and Alexis Wright each scored baskets during a 6-0 run to trim the Knights' lead to 10-9. Arcadia scored the next five points before Haley Keenan scored an and-one to put the Aggies down 15-12 after the first.

After Arcadia scored the first basket of the second, four straight Aggie points cut the deficit to 17-16. With the Knights leading 23-18, Jenna Schiessl hit a free throw and Aubrey Ennis connected from long range to once again trail by one, 23-22 with 5:38 left in the half. After team's traded baskets, Arcadia rattled off the final 14 points of the second quarter over the final 4:48 to lead 39-24 at the break. The Knights outscored the Aggies 24-12 in the second quarter and knocked down five three pointers.

A quick basket from the Knights grew their lead to 41-24 to begin the third, but the Aggies hung tough, as they went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 41-32 four minutes into the quarter. Arcadia answered with four straight free throws to grow their advantage back to 13. DelVal once again battled back, trimming the lead to 46-37 with four points from Alexis Wright and a free throw from Keenan. The Knights wouldn't allow their lead to shrink to less than nine however, as they led 55-42 after three quarters.

Maisie Neuber hit two foul shots to start the fourth, but Arcadia scored six straight points to match their largest lead of the night at 61-44 with 6:33 left. DelVal went on a 5-0 run to yet again trail by 12 with 5:33 left, but the Knights would hold steady for the remainder of the way as they went home with a 67-55 victory.

Scarlett Glasser-Nehls scored a game-high 25 points for Arcadia while dishing out five assists. Delaney Bell scored 16 points and grabbed 15 boards with five blocks.

Maisie Neuber led the Aggies with 12 points and ten rebounds while Aubrey Ennis scored 11 points and had eight assists.

After going just 7-15 and 2-14 in MAC Freedom play a year ago, the Aggies saw major improvements this season as they finished 12-14 overall and 8-8 in conference play. Laura Hogan's squad brings back its entire roster next season.
