DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team tips off its 2023-24 campaign this weekend at the Messiah Tip-Off Tournament facing host, Messiah, tonight at 7 p.m.
The Aggies look to return to the playoffs this season after hosting a first-round playoff game last year, but fell just short to Arcadia.
The always-competitive MAC Freedom conference faces some differences this year with the departure of Lycoming and Wilkes. Lebanon Valley will balance things out making the jump from the Commonwealth to the Freedom to make eight teams per division and allow just four teams to earn a spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament. The Aggies will face the Dutchmen this season for the first time since Dec. 30, 2016 where DelVal dropped the contest, 62-57.
DelVal will kick off the new year with conference play at home in James Work Gymnasium against Misericordia on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
The Aggies return four of their top five scorers from last year in
Haley Keenan,
Maisie Neuber,
Alexis Wright and
Taylor Richardson. Delval expanded its roster with the addition of five freshman and sophomore transfer
Caitlin Martinez.
