WILKES-BARRE (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's wrestling team visited Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foe King's College for a Friday night dual and came away with a thrilling 18-17 victory thanks to a pin from sophomore Greg Croce, and a clinching decision from first-year Logan Flynn.
The Aggies improved to 8-4 in dual matches this season, while the Monarchs fell to 3-3.
DelVal first-year Jacob Blair was bested by Gus Petruske IV in the 125-pound bout by 6-1 decision. The Aggies countered with a pair of hard-fought decisions at 133 and 141 to take the lead. Sophomore Ryan Arndt extended his win-streak to eight with an 11-5 decision at 133 and first-year Taylor Weaver followed with a furious 15-10 decision.
After King's earned a decision at 149, Croce delivered the first bonus points of the night for DelVal with a late pin of Colby Spencer. Croce built a 7-1 lead after two periods and led 17-5 before finishing the fall and giving the Aggies a 12-6 lead.
Sophomore Adam Coleman maintained the momentum with a 3-1 decision over Bret Murphy at 165 to make it 15-6.
Kade Kravits, King's runner-up MAC finisher, defeated DelVal first-year Luke Moore by 7-3 decision at 174 and sparked a run of three-straight wins for the home that lifted the Monarchs into a 17-15 lead with just one bout to go.
At heavyweight, the Aggies called upon first-year Logan Flynn who delivered a confident 6-2 decision over Jacob Feese and earned DelVal the 18-17 dual victory.
