WILKES-BARRE (Pa.) – Sophomore Brandon Perot reached a new personal-best and took first place in the men's shot put to lead the Delaware Valley University men's track and field team at the King's College Monarch Open on Saturday.
Perot reached 42.9 meters for a new PR and topped the field of nine competitors by nearly two meters. Javon Speid finished third out of six in the men's shot put with a throw of 11.3 meters and Moses Madison took home fourth out of 10 in the men's long jump with a leap of 5.79 meters.
Carter Owen competed in the men's 1,500-meter run and finished top-10 in the field of 19. Owen recorded a 4:35.05 finish to take ninth overall.
In the men's javelin throw, Nicholas Lienhard competed for the second time this season and reached 36.51 meters to earn 11th out of 19, while teammate Billy Mayer's throw of 34.41 meters was good for 15th.
Jonathan St. Hilaire (11.74), Madison ( 11.82) and Justin Rosenberger (12.85) competed in the men's 100-meter dash.
Today was the final tune-up for the Aggies before they take on conference rivals at the MAC Championships next weekend at DeSales University.
