READING (PA)--- The Delaware Valley men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Alvernia University for day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championships.
The men's 4x200 relay team of Messiah Smythe, Matthew O'Dunlami, Dontae Mason and Logan Cooper had the best showing for the Aggies, as the group ran a 1:33.04, giving them a third place finish and scoring six points towards the team score.
The women's 4x200 relay team of Alysia Joseph, Sarah Mullen, Grace Kane and Kelly Hastings finished in seventh place with a time of 1:50.90, beating the previous school record by two seconds. The seventh place spot scored two points for the team score.
Kait Jones was the third Aggie to score for the team, as the sophomore scored one point with an eighth place finish after a throw of 13.10 meters.
The men's 4000m DMR team of Justin Kaufman, Logan Cooper, Ethan Berberabe and Carter Owen set a school record with a time of 11:14.35.
In the men's long jump, Moses Madison set a new personal record with a jump of 6.16m, good for a 13th place finish. Teammate Dontae Mason was right behind him in 14th place, with a jump of 6.12m.
Alyssa Blackmon set a PR in the women's 5000m by running 19:57.25.
Sarah Mullen secured her spot in the women's 60m hurdles finals tomorrow, finishing with the eighth best time at 9.89.
In the men's 60m dash, both Jonathan St. Hilaire and Messiah Smythe finished neck-and-neck for the last qualifying spot. Smythe finished at 7.20507, while St. Hilaire ran 7.20502, sending Smythe into the finals on day two.
Grace Kane ran a 8.27 in the women's 60m dash, giving her a 13th place finish, 0.11 seconds behind the last qualifying spot.
The men's team currently sits tied for 9th place after day one, while the women's squad is tied for 11th. Full standings are below:
