ELIZABETHTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley University Women's Basketball team fell to York College in the consolation game of the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic 83-53 as first-year Alexis Wright was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts over the weekend.
Over the two-day tournament, Wright averaged 14.5 points per game on 52% shooting to go along with 5.5 rebounds per game.
York raced out to a fast start in the first as the Spartans held a 31-9 lead after the first ten minutes of play. Aubrey Ennis and Wright each knocked down triples early on in the second quarter for the Aggies who trailed 49-19 at the break.
Maisie Neuber converted an and one for DelVal's first basket of the third quarter while Haley Keenan scored ten of her 14 points in the third. Sophie Chevres chipped in five in the frame in which DelVal outscored the Spartans 22-20. York outscored the Aggies by two in the fourth to finish off the 83-53 victory.
Savannah Wilson led all scorers with 20 points for York.
Alexis Wright led DelVal with 15 points while Haley Keenan contributed 14. Aubrey Ennis had a team-high four assists and Tori Bockrath came away with a season and career-best three steals.
The Aggies will take a ten day break before returning to action for a home game on Friday, December 30th against PSU-Harrisburg at 4 p.m.
