GARDEN CITY (Ny.) – The Delaware Valley University women's wrestling team competed at the Nassau Open on Sunday where Bridgette Schoultz led the team with three wins. There was no team scoring at the event.
Schoultz, competed in the 123-pound bracket and began her day with a pin of Janieliz Cotto of East Stroudsburg. Schoultz needed just 2:02 to earn the fall. After suffering a loss by tech. fall to Naomi Henry of Jersey City, she bounced back with consecutive wins by tech. fall to finish the day 3-1. Her second of the tech. fall victories came against Gianna Amendola of East Stroudsburg.
Caira Jaynes earned a win by fall as she took just 47 seconds to get Felicia Smith to her back and finish the match. Makenna Cooper, competing in the same bracket, was also able to take care of Smith via fall in 2:13 for her first victory of the season.
The Aggie women's wrestlers will be back in action on Saturday, December 17 at New Jersey City University.
