Bott Takes Home Title as Women’s Wrestling Competes at SEPA Tournament

NEWTOWN (PA)--- The Delaware Valley women's wrestling team headed to the Newtown Athletic Club Sunday for the SEPA All You Need is Faith Tournament and came home with one of four titles, as Kat Bott went unbeaten to capture a first place medal.

Bott started off the day with a win by fall at 4:22 over DelVal's Gigi Lee. The first-year then went on to pick up another win by fall, this time at 1:17 over Patience Hevi of New Jersey City University to finish at 2-0 and take home first place.

Lee finished in second place in her division, going 1-1 after securing a 14-3 tech fall at 5:52.

Ciara Jaynes came away with a second place finish out of four competitors after finishing with a 2-1 mark. The sophomore won her first match of the day with a 10-0 tech fall at 3:00. She then lost to Sandra Guerrero from NJCU, the #7 ranked wrestler in the country, before securing another tech fall 11-0 at 2:55.

Ashley Cravo dropped her first match to Isabella Frezzo of NJCU, but bounced back nicely with a 12-2 tech fall at 3:39 to finish at 1-1 and take home second place in her class.

Bridgette Schoultz was the fourth and final competitor for the Aggies and she also took home second place in her division. The junior lost to NJCU's Naomi Henry, the 5th ranked wrestler in the country, but rebounded with a 10-0 fall at 1:51 to round out the day at 1-1.

The Aggies will be back in action Saturday, February 5th for their first home matches of the year against Elmira College and Ferrum College.
