LOCK HAVEN PA (PA)--- The Delaware Valley women's wrestling team traveled to Lock Haven for a tri-match with the host Bald Eagles and Sacred Heart and came away with the program's first ever dual victory.
The Aggies narrowly defeated Sacred Heart, the 15th ranked team in the country, 20-19, to secure the historic win.
May Nuan Ngam, Ashley Cravo and Jackie McGee each won by forfeit to begin the match, giving DelVal a 15-0 lead. At 130 pounds, Bridgette Schoultz made quick work of Ayeska Zanetti, as the junior picked up the pin in just 21 seconds to extend the Aggie lead to 20-0.
Sacred heart won the final four bouts, two by pin, one by tech fall and one by forfeit, but it wasn't enough, as the Aggies held on for the 20-19 win.
The Aggies fell to Lock Haven in their second dual of the day, 38-6.
DelVal's next event will be the SEPA All You Need is Faith Tournament on Sunday, January 30th at the Newtown Athletic Club.
