READING (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's wrestling team put a bow on the shortened 2021 campaign at Middle Atlantic Conference foe Alvernia University. There was no team scoring at the event, but matches counted toward individual records as 11 different Aggies took to the mat.

Junior Chris Richardson led the team with a two wins by fall and no losses. Both pins came in the first period as he got Tanner Vogel to his back with just over a minute left in the first, and he managed to pin Ian McCabe with just 20 seconds remaining.

First-year Carter Owen, went 1-3 with a 19-0 tech fall over Louis LaRocca at 141 pounds. Also at 141, sophomore Russell Benson won his first match with a pin in the waning seconds of the final period, but he suffered his first and only loss of the season when Jason Rezac earned a first period fall for the Golden Wolves. Rezac also faced Owen and defeated him with a 20-0 tech. fall.

Sophomore Mike Rubino also came away with a 1-1 record on the day as he finished on either end of a 16-0 technical fall in the two matches. His win came against Brock Drahus and the 16-0 margin of victory came at the 6:07 mark.

First-year Zach Zuckerman and sophomore Jake Nase each suffered two losses at 157 and 184 pounds, respectively. Austin Williams and Isaisah Johnson had identical losses to Tonee Ellis by 9-4 decision at 197 pounds.

At 174 pounds, Youssef Ait Boulahri finished the day 1-1 with a 14-7 decision over Ian McCabe and a first period fall in a loss to Matt Lackman.

The Aggies heavyweight, Dan Eckley was 1-1 on the day. The first-year student-athlete earned a 5-0 decision over Angelo Moore, but fell to Palmer Rodenhaber by 8-3 decision.
