COLLEGEVILLE (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's wrestling team dropped a pair of matches as it hosted East Stroudsburg University and Elmira College at Ursinus College for the inaugural Aggie Duals. The Aggies fell to the Warriors, 45-5, and dropped a 30-15 result to the Eagles.
Katt Bott earned a win by no decision in the opening match to put DelVal on the board. East Stroudsburg earned four wins by fall.
In the final match of the day against Elmira College, May Nuan Ngam accepted a win by forfeit a 101 for the Aggies. At 123 pounds, senior Bridgette Schoultz got into the win column with a fall over Merci Jessop in the first period. Schoultz worked two quick takedowns, but then gave back the four points as Jessop took Schoultz from feet to back. With the score knotted at 4-4 and under a minute left in the first, Schoultz got Jessop back to the mat and rolled her to her back to earn the fall.
Caira Jaynes finished the match in the finale with her first collegiate victory as she needed just 35 seconds to earn a fall over Hazel Dahlquist. Jaynes had a nice takedown early and never let Dahlquist back in it.
Elmira earned three wins by fall.
