HUNTINGDON (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball team tipped-off at the two-day Juniata Classic on Friday afternoon but suffered a 68-41 setback to Ohio Northern.

The Aggies (1-3) lead 4-3 in the early going but the Polar Bears (2-0) used an 18-1 run to take a 21-5 lead with 8:32 left in the first half. The maintained a 32-13 lead over DelVal at the half and held the Aggies at bay the rest of the way.

Ohio Northern got 45 points off its bench and forced the Aggies into 26 turnovers in the game. DelVal shot 14-for-46 (30.4%) from the field and 2-for-15 (13.3%) from three-point land.

Senior Lauren Moretti led the Aggies with 11 points and five assists to go with three rebounds and sophomore Haley Keenan finished with 10 points, seven boards, and two assists. Taylor Richardson led the team with eight rebounds and Kyarra Williams pitched in eight points.

The Polar Bears got points from 13 different players led by Kristen Luersman and Brooke Allen who poured in 12 and 10 off the bench, respectively. They outrebounded Delval, 52-32, for the game and shot 37.7% (26-for-69) from the field and 29.2% (7-for-24) from deep.

The Aggies will look to bounce-back tomorrow when they take on host Juniata at 3 p.m.
