EWING (NJ.) -- The Delaware Valley University men's wrestling team concluded its 2019-20 regular season campaign with a 38-6 setback at sixth-ranked The College Of New Jersey.
The match started at 141 pounds with Nic Mele of the Lions (16-1) earning a win by forfeit.
Freshman
Evan Widing took on Anthony Gagliano, who came into the night as an honorable mention at 149 pounds, and controlled the match. He cruised to a 15-9 decision.
Jusin Whitacre dropped a 16-1 tech. fall decision at 157 pounds, and
Jake Nase suffered a first period fall.
Kyle Hillermeier and
Austin Williams each fell by decision, but
Youssef Ait Boulahri salvaged a decision at 285 pounds.
Ait Boulahri earned a pin in last night's match and defeated TCNJ's Thomas Marretta, 8-5, for his second win in as many days.
Kordell Rush ended the match at 133 pounds against the third-ranked wrestler in the weight class, Jake Giordano. The match could have went either way, but it was Giordano that came out on top in a 3-2 decision.
