MADISON (Nj.) -- The Delaware Valley University tennis teams each traveled to FDU-Florham for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match, and each suffered 8-1 setbacks with one win at singles play.
The men got the win from senior Evan Augsburger at sixth singles in two sets, 6-4 and 6-1. Ryan Lombardo competed at first singles and fell 6-2, 6-0, and Zach Harkcom fell 6-0, 6-1 at second singles. Nick Gaetano and NIck Princetta each dropped two sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 in their singles matches and Vincent Rothbort lost 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles. The Aggies registered just one point through three doubles matches.
On the women's side, it was NIcki Fox at fifth singles that earned the win with sets of 7-5 and 6-4. Senior
Allie Vaccaro battled in two sets but dropped each one, 6-4, and
Aubrey Errickson fell at first singles 7-6 and 6-0.
Erin Volov dropped two sets by scores of 6-1 each, and
Miller Huertgen lost her fourth singles match, 6-0, 6-2. DelVal was downed in doubles play 8-1 and 8-3.
The Aggies will put a bow on the 2019 campaign with another MAC Freedom match at Wilkes University on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m.
