NASHVILLE (Tn.) – The Delaware Valley University men's wrestling team traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for the 2019 Gator Duals hosted by Luther College, but walked away with a 1-3 record to close the 2019 portion of the campaign.

The Aggies fell to 4-6 overall in dual matches and will get back in action on January 11 at the Gettysburg tri-match against the host Bullets and Johns Hopkins University.

The number three-ranked wrestler in Division III at 133 pounds, senior Kordell Rush, went 3-0 on the day including a second period pin over Jason Padilla from Simpson and a 4-3 decision over Tyler Difiore of Luther who was receiving votes in the national rankings.

Freshman Evan Widing went 2-2 at 149 pounds as he earned first period pins in the matches against Simpson and Mount St. Joseph, and sophomore Youssef Ait Boulahri impressed with a 3-1 day and two wins by fall.

In the first match of the day against the Storm, DelVal got six-point pins from Rush, Widing, and Costanza, but still trailed by four, 25-21, going into the final bout of the day at 285 pounds. Ait Boulahri secured the team's victory with a second period pin of Colton Kinnison.

Against Mount St. Joseph, Widing got his second fall of the day and new comer Patrick O'Neill got an early second period pin. Freshman Anthony Aquilano followed with a 37 second pin at 165 pounds to put DelVal on top, 21-17, but losses by fall at the next two weights put the bout out of reach.

Rush and O'Neill got the lone points of the math for the Aggies against host Luther. Rush earned a 4-3 decision and O'Neill won his match, 9-4.

In the final match against Wisconsin Eau-Claire, DelVal's lone points came from a forfeit to Rush and a first period pin by Ait Boulahri at heavyweight.
