DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University wrestling team has been riddled with injuries since ending the first semester, and dropped a 37-11 decision at home to Gettysburg College in a non-conference match on Saturday night.
After forfeiting at the first two weight classes,
Russell Benson was pinned in the third period by Sean Thompson in the 141-pound bout.
Anthony Snyder got the Aggies on the board with a 16-1 tech. fall over Mason Canonico. Snyder earned 10 back points in the match and surrendered just one point to an escape. He earned the tech fall at 6:13.
In the 197 pound match,
Steve Horvath was trailing 3-2 after the first period, but tied the score in the second with an escape. After two periods, the score was 5-5, and with just 56 second left in the match, Horvath earned the pin over Mike Iodice to make it 31-11.
DelVal was forced to forfeit the heavyweight bout, and the Bullets took the victory, 37-11.
