CENTER VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team opened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play with a 9-0 loss at DeSales University on Sunday.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-2 and 2-0 while the Aggies fell to 2-8 and 0-1.
Singles' play saw a three-set battle at the fifth spot as DelVal's
Nick Gaetano took on Jake McKinney. Gaetano took the first set, 6-4, but McKinney rallied for 7-5, 6-2 triumphs in the next sets.
Nicolas Princetta and
Ryan Lombardo took four games each at third and fourth singles respectively. Newcomer Tyler Smith took three games in the opening set at first singles while
Zack Harkcom took two games at second singles.
In doubles' play, Smith and Harkcom teamed up and dropped an 8-3 decision at the first spot.
The Aggies' will travel to Drew University for a non-conference match on Tuesday, April 10.
