CLERMONT (FL) – The Delaware Valley University softball team concluded its spring break trip in Clermont, Florida with a split on the final day of games, including a 10-2 victory over Lancaster Bible College in the second game. The Aggies dropped the first game 15-0 to Lake Forest College.

The Foresters (5-2) hit the ball early and often off of DelVal (4-3) starting pitcher Jamie Stefani, who was starting for the third time in two days, and it resulted in nine runs on nine hits through two innings of play. Shaye Gauthier had three RBI's in that stretch and Riley Frisbie hit a two-run home run to dead center field in the first inning.

Caitlin Stoner had the only hit in the game and was the lone base runner for the Aggies as Lake Forest cruised to a 15-0 win.

Hannah Kalnicky and Maria Zepeda each had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI in the game and Maddie Webb pitched five innings with six strikeouts in the win for the Foresters.

Against Lancaster Bible College (2-8), Delaware Valley (5-3) gave the ball to Mikayla Gallagher to start the game for the first time in her career and the sophomore held the Chargers without a hit through the first three innings to keep the game tied at 0-0 going into the fourth.

After getting one out, Katie Kleinhans got aboard with a single and later came around to score on a Morgan Burkholder single to give Lancaster Bible a 1-0 lead. The Charges added one more in the frame on a Kendra Brown RBI single.

In the bottom half of the fourth, the Aggies loaded the bases with one out for Jamie Stefani and the junior drove in Morgan Hawk to get DelVal on the board. Jess Ellick and Maddy O'Donohue also came around to score in the inning to put the Aggies on top, 3-2 going into the fifth.

Gallagher held the Chargers to just two hits and no runs the rest of the way and DelVal added seven runs on seven hits and four errors over the next two frames to end the game at 10-2 in the sixth inning.

Nina Dudley led the Aggies with three hits and two runs scored in the game while Hawk and Gina Formisano each added two hits and two runs scored. Ellick also notched two hits to go with an RBI and a run scored. Tarryn Matti finished with an RBI and a run scored and O'Donohue came in to score twice.
