YORK (PA) – Two-time returning national qualifier

Eliias Vega (174) reached the quarterfinals in their respective weight classes to highlight Delaware Valley University's showing at the New Standard Corporation Invitational (York College).
The Aggies, as a team placed 16
th out of 17 squads with 14.5 points. Fourth-ranked Johnson & Wales University took top honors with 141.5 points, eight better than fifth-ranked Ithaca College. No. 9 Baldwin Wallace University was third with 130.5 points.
Velez reached the quarterfinals thanks to an 8-0 major decision over Connor Mauriello of Johns Hopkins University and a 6-2 decision over Alex Hin of York. He dropped a tough, 4-2 decision to Dillon Stowell of The College at Brockport, but bounced back with a 9-2 triumph in the consolation bracket before a 4-0 loss ended his day.
Vega posted an 8-6 victory over Josh Farrar of Cortland State and a 6-1 triumph over Teddy Fleming of Brockport to reach the quarterfinals. He then dropped a 10-1 major decision to tournament runner-up Jaison White of Ithaca and was pinned in the consolation bracket.
Freshman
Chris Richardson dropped his opening march at 157 pounds, but bounced back with three consecutive pins in consolation. He dropped Khai Do of Elizabethtown College in just 47 seconds and followed with pins over Clifford Harrison of Ferrum College (2:19) and Jawan Jones of Ithaca (2:13) before being eliminated.
DelVal is off until December 22 when it takes part in the Wilkes University Open.
