ANNAPOLIS (MD) – The Delaware Valley University wrestling made the first of two trips to the United State Naval Academy for a quad match on Saturday. The Aggies lost to both Navy squads (49-0 to Gold, 46-3 to Blue), but bounced back with a 38-15 victory over Thaddeus Stevens of Technology.
 
DelVal is now 3-2 on the season.
 
In the win over Thaddeus, the Aggies had a technical fall, a decision and five forfeits. The technical fall came from 2017 national qualifier Tim Ambacher as the seventh-ranked 141-pound Division III wrestler downed Brad Snider early in the second period.
 
Shawn Phillips earned a 9-7 decision over Noah Tarr at 157 while Brenden Velez (133), Chris Richardson (165), Anthony Costanza (174), Xavier Ferrizzi (197) and Oscar Daniels (285) got the forfeit wins.
 
Ambacher picked up DelVal's lone win against the Navy Blue Squad as notched a 7-4 decision over Kyle Trybus. Three of the Mids' four returning national qualifiers, all of whom are ranked nationally this season, hit the mats and posted victories over DelVal.
 
The Aggies will compete in the Fall Brawl at Ursinus College on Saturday, November 11 (9 a.m.).
