10TH-RANKED AGGIE WRESTLERS CRUISE TO 34-10 VICTORY AT CENTENARY

HACKETTSTOWN (NJ) – Delaware Valley College, ranked 10th in the latest Division III national poll, won seven of 10 weight classes, en route to a 34-10 triumph over host Centenary College.

The win improved the Aggies to 10-3 in dual meets. They will return to action less than 24 hours later when they host The College of New Jersey for Senior Night on Friday (7:30 p.m.).

Delaware Valley recorded two pins, two forfeits, a major decision and two decisions in the win. The match kicked off a 125 pounds where Brenden Velez (9-8) was awarded a forfeit victory. Zac Haynes then needed just 38 seconds to drop Alex Reeves at 133 pounds. Haynes improved to 21-6 on the year while the pin was his team-best ninth of the season.

The Cyclones made it 12-4 with a major decision at 141, but Vinny Fava and Jeff Reimel notched decisions in the next two weights for an 18-4 Aggie lead at the halfway points of the match. Fava, the top-ranked 149-pound wrestler in Division III, won for the 19th time in 21 tries as he downed Collin Farley, 10-4. Reimel improved to 10-6 with an 8-3 victory over Joe Bartolini at 157.

Centenary was victorious in the next weight classes as it closed its deficit to 18-10. However, the Cyclones forfeited the 184-pound weight to Nick Della Fera (1-0) and that officially clinched the win for Delaware Valley.

Nationally-ranked wrestlers Aaron Karns and Zach Roseberry ended the night with a major decision and a pin respectively for the 34-10 final. Karns, ranked second at 197 pounds, improved to 24-3 with an 8-0 blanking of Joe Ragsdale. It was also Karn's 113th career win, tying the senior with former teammate Emmanuel Ajagbe for fifth place on the Aggie all-time victory list.

Roseberry, ranked sixth in Division III at heavyweight, pinned Josh Caven 43 seconds into the second period (3:43) for his seventh fall of the year and his team-best 25th victory (25-3)
