DELVAL WRESTLERS ROLL TO 53-4 TRIUMPH OVER KING'S

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College picked up six points in eight of the 10 weight classes and five in another as the Aggies notched a 53-4 home victory over Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foe King's College.

The win improved Delaware Valley to 9-5 in dual meets while the Monarchs saw their mark fall to 1-12 on the season.

The Aggies had four pins, four forfeits and one technical fall on the evening. The first fall came at 141 pounds where Pat Davis (12-8) had a 5-0 lead before he dropped Giacomo Dinicola (0-10) with 50 seconds left in the first period (2:10).

Delaware Valley then had pins in three of the final four weight classes. At 174, Ben Schweiger (9-12) picked up his fifth pin of the year as he built a 4-0 lead and put Angelo Lussi (6-8) on the mat in 2:41.

At 197, returning All-American and seventh-ranked Aaron Karns (21-4) had a takedown and four near falls for an 11-0 lead. He then got the pin over Cemah Tudae-Torboh (7-6) with 33 seconds left in the first (2:27).

Zach Roseberry then ended the 32-minute match as, up 4-0, the heavyweight dropped Elijah Greshman (4-16) in 4:22. The win was Roseberry's 19th in 24 matches,

Senior and returning All-American Emmanuel Ajagbe reached a milestone in his 16-0, technical fall victory over Matt Lukachinsky (1-12) at 157 pounds. Ajagbe, who had two takedowns, a reversal, three near-falls and riding time, improved to 12-5 on the season. It was also his 108th career triumph and it tied him with two others for sixth place on Delaware Valley's all-time victory list.

Ronnie Dingle (1-5), Connor Kirkegard (11-7), Alex Horan (17-7) and Connor Gabriel (8-11) picked up forfeit wins in the 125, 133, 165 and 184-pound weight classes.

King's lone win came at 149 pounds where Christian Mazzocchi (13-7) scored 10 points in the second period (three near-falls, one stalling) for a 12-0 lead. He went onto a 14-0 major decision over Sekou Harris (8-9).

Delaware Valley will return to action next Thursday, February 13 when it hosts Centenary College for Senior Night.
