HANDFUL OF AGGIE WRESTLERS COMPETE AT MESSIAH OPEN

GRANTHAM (PA) – Five Delaware Valley College wrestlers hit the mats at the Messiah College Invitational and two came back with victories. Team scoring was not held at the event.

Ronnie Dingle (133) and Sam Pietrantuono (157) each went 1-2 in their respective weight classes. Dingle advanced to the championship quarterfinals with an 11-10 decision over Waynesburg's Brendan Omicoli. He fell to top-seeded Jenkins Monzey of Division I Maryland and dropped his next match in consolations.

Pietrantuono suffered a 4-2 loss to Michael Paccino of Division I Drexel but picked up a win in the consolations before falling to the fourth seed to go 1-2.

Shawn Phillips (141), James DeLillo (141) and Brett Ackerley (285) also competed for Delaware Valley.

The entire Aggie squad, ranked ninth in Division III, will now prepare for their first two home matches of the season. They will take on third-ranked Cortland State University on Friday, February 1 (6:00 p.m.) and will then meet No. 11 Ithaca College less than 24 hours later on Saturday (12:00 p.m.).
