ELIZABETHTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College, ranked 22nd in Division III, opened its dual meet schedule with a pair of losses at a tri-match held at Elizabethtown College. The Aggies dropped a 29-16 decision to Division II Kutztown University and followed with a 30-13 setback to the host Blue Jays.

Delaware Valley led Kutztown by a 12-7 margin after the first four weight classes, thanks to pins by Rich Tieto and returning All-American Zak Andrews. Tieto dropped Tyree Gardner in 4:46 of their 133-pound match while Andrews, ranked second in Division III at 149 pounds, needed just over six minutes (6:10) to pin Jackson Stabile. It was his Andrews' seventh win of the season, all by fall.

However, the Golden Bears picked up a pin, two technical falls and two decisions over the next five weight classes for a 29-12 advantage. Cody Gardner gave the Aggies their final points with an 8-0 major decision over Brandon Clark at heavyweight.

The Elizabethtown match saw the Blue Jays get a decision and a major decision in the first two weights for a 7-0 advantage. Delaware Valley tied it up as Eric McCann edged Colin Sheridan, 3-2, at 141, and Andrews followed with a 9-1 major decision over eighth-ranked Tye Boyer.

Elizabethtown with a pin by Jordan Moser at 157 and back-to-back major decisions by Zeke Zimmer (165) and Dylan Carmichael (174) for a 21-7 lead. Kyle Tufts (184) put the Aggies within range of a comeback at 21-13 as he dropped Jared Weaver with 32 second left in the first period (2:28). However, the Blue Jays sealed the match with a Cameron Aregood pin at 197 and a Bill Meaney decision at heavyweight.
