DELVAL SUFFERS LOSS AT MISERICORDIA

DALLAS (PA) – Misericorda University led from start to finish as the Cougars posted a 79-34 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

Misericordia (11-7, 6-2 Freedom) jumped out quickly and scored 16 of the game's first 19 points. The Aggies (8-11, 2-6) did make a 10-2 run, including a pair of 3-pointers by Sarah Innerst, to trail by just five, 18-13, at the halfway point of the first half. However, the Cougars responded with nine of the next 11 points and eventually took a 39-20 lead into the intermission. They then outscored Delaware Valley, 40-14, in the final 20 minutes.

Tyann McDaniel hit six shots from 3-point land and finished with a game-high 20 points for Misericordia. Hannah Seely added 17 points and six rebounds off the bench while Jesse Robinson chipped in with 14 points.

Jackie Shunkwiler was the lone Aggie to reach double figures as she finished the afternoon with 12 points. Innerst had nine points and six rebounds in the loss.
