DELVAL CHARGES PAST LANCASTER BIBLE, 81-48

LANCASTER (PA) – Delaware Valley College went on a 15-0 run early in the first half and never look back as the Aggies cruised to an 81-48, non-conference victory at Lancaster Bible College.

The teams each traded layups and a pair of free throws for a 4-4 score three minutes into the contest. It was all Delaware Valley (8-8) from there as its defense forced six turnovers over the next six minutes and it helped lead to 15 straight points at the offensive end and a 19-4 advantage. Jackie Shunkwiler and Kim Vennera paced the spurt with six and four points respectively.

The Aggies took a 40-16 advantage into the intermission and led by as many as 37 in the second stanza. All 10 healthy players who made the trip saw at least 14 minutes of action with each of them hitting the scoring column.

Vennera was a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line and finished with 23 points in just 23 minutes of action. In the process, the junior guard moved into 13th place on the school's all-time scoring list with 824 career points.
Freshman Erin Boyer came off the bench to drill a trio of 3-pointers as part of her 17-point total. Shunkwiler, also a freshman, added 15 points and five rebounds while yet another rookie, Brittney Zimmerman, finished the afternoon with nine points.

The Chargers (5-9) were paced by Nicole Karshner and Lacy McClaine as the duo each scored 15 points in the loss.
