Matsinye led the Aggies to a 75-72 victory over Hartwick College in the opening round of the Sponaugle New Years Tournament. The junior guard shot 6-for-11 in that game including 1-for-1 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points to go with one steal. Although the Aggies fell to host, F&M in the tournament championship game, Matsinye put up 16 points with a 10-for-15 effort from the free-throw line and added four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Matsinye was the lone Aggie named to the all-tournament team.
