About Women's Soccer
With five MAC Freedom playoff berths and one appearance in the ECAC South Region Championships, the Aggie women's soccer program has certainly seen its share of success since being elevated to varsity level in 1994.
The Aggies produced their greatest year in program history in 2008 as they notched a school-record 14-4-2 mark. They were ranked regionally and hosted a playoff game for the first time - a day that was capped by Emily Perryman's goal in double overtime to send the squad to the Freedom Conference Championship Game. DelVal fell 1-0 in the title contest at an Eastern University squad that eventually reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA playoffs. The Aggies were then selected for the ECAC playoffs where they lost on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Swarthmore College.
In 2014, DelVal, with no seniors on the roster, was picked to finish last in the Freedom Conference. Instead, the Aggies placed third in the standings and advanced to the conference tournament where they dropped a decision to eventual champion and NCAA qualifier Misericordia University.
The Aggies have had three players earn conference Player of the Year honors on five different occasions: Emilie Replogle '99. Ana Mecaj '06 and Elise Dauber '09. Replogle, a DVUÂ Hall of Famer, was a three-time conference Most Valuable Player (1996-97-98) and ended her brilliant career as one of Division III's all-time leading scorers with 94 goals and 42 assists for 230 points.
Mecaj, also a DelVal Hall of Famer, took home the conference honor in 2005 and finished her career with 106 points. Dauber received the accolade as a junior in 2007 and the two-time all-region honoree wrapped up her career as the program's second all-time leader in both goals (53) and points (127).
The team has also succeeded in the classroom as a player has earned Academic All-American honors four times (Replogle in 1997 and 1998, Allison Lewandowski in 2001 and Kirsten Wurzburg in 2002). They have received the Team Academic Award from the NSCAA for the 2010-11, 2011-12, 2013-14 and 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years.
