About Men's Basketball

Over the last four seasons, under head coach Mark Seidenburg, the Aggies have reached the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom playoffs twice and were the top-seed heading into the tournament in 2016-17.

In his first year, Seidenburg led the squad to 16 wins including an 11-3 mark in league play. The team hosted fourth-seeded DeSales, but moments before tip-off, the game was postponed 20 hours due to a power outage on campus. When the game was finally played the Aggies fell to the Bulldogs and were eliminated. A squirrel caused the campus-wide power outage by blowing a transformer, and "sparky" became an infamous late rodent.

DelVal returned to the playoffs in 2018-19 with an 8-6 mark in MAC Freedom games, but were downed by top-seeded DeSales on the road.

Since 2008, the Aggies have won 155 games with six Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom tournament appearances, four berths in the conference title game, three MAC Freedom championships and three trips to the NCAA Division III playoffs during that span. The three conference titles and NCAA playoff berths were in the last eight years alone.

In 2010-11, DelVal finished in first place in the regular season and hosted both the conference semifinal and championship game in front of capacity crowds. The Aggies knocked off Wilkes University in the semifinals for the program's first postseason victory. They then routed two-time defending champion DeSales in the title contest and moved on to the NCAAs where they fell to 10th-ranked Virginia Wesleyan. James Jones had a record-setting season in 2010-11 to cap an amazing three-year career with DelVal. He was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Year and earned All-America honors - the first in program history. He set an NCAA Division III record for consecutive free throws made in one season (66) and was also featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces In The Crowd.

In 2012-13, DelVal set a school record with 19 wins, including victories in 11 of its last 13 games. The Aggies won the conference semifinal match-up at home to reach the championship game at top-seeded DeSales. They notched a 77-72 victory to cut the nets down on their rival's home court. The Aggies met up again with Virginia Wesleyan in the NCAAs and fell to the national power.Jeremy Beckett earned six postseason awards including the Freedom Conference Player of the Year, the Freedom Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player and All-America honors.

In 2014-15, the Aggies won 15 games in the regular season and were the second seed in the Freedom tournament. They dominated DeSales, 83-67, in front of another capacity home playoff crowd. Two fan buses followed the team up to top-seeded Misericordia University for the championship game, but they fell to the Cougars.

The next season, DelVal set a program record with 20 wins, including a record 11 straight early in the year. The Aggies entered the regional rankings for the first time in program history and finished as the third seed for the MAC Freedom tournament. They posted a last-season win on Misericordia's home court in the semifinals and hosted Wilkes in the title clash. Delaware Valley captured the championship with a 75-72 triumph. Senior Chris Moran became the third All-American in program history and also earned MAC Freedom Player of the Year and Tournament Most Valuable Player accolades.

In 2016-17, the Aggies came under new leadership with Mark Seidenburg taking over as head coach. The team was picked to miss the conference playoffs, but, instead, they won 16 games and finished atop the regular-season standings. They were the top seed for the conference tournament.
