Third-year head coach Felix Moreno and the Delaware Valley University women's track and field team look to improve on last year's feats with 14 newcomers set to join a core of five returning student-athletes.
"I'm very excited to see how the team is going to develop throughout the season and I'm looking forward to it," Moreno said.
Senior Sara Chamberlain was a member of the 4x800 meter relay (11:29.53) that finished 10th at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships last February. At last year's Bow-Tie Classic, Chamberlain notched a pair of top 20 finishes, taking ninth (20:40.14) in the 5,000 meters and 11th (12:03.07) in the 3,000 meters.
Sophomore Rachel Landis was another member of last season's 4x800 meter relay that finished 10th at the MAC Championships. At the Albright College Invitational, Landis brought home three top 10 finishes including fifth place in the 3,000-meter run (12:47.36), seventh in the 1-mile run (6:33.34) and 10th in the 800-meter run (2:55.06).
Fellow sophomore Taylor Dziedzic is back for her second campaign with the Aggies. At last year's Ramapo College Season Opener, she had a 14th-place showing in the shot put (28' 8.25").
Seniors Ashley Vinica and Anastasia Zajchowski also return from last year. Both recently competed on the DelVal cross country team.
The Aggies begin the season on Saturday, December 3 at the Bow Tie Classic hosted by Ursinus College. The MAC Championships is set for February 24 and 25 at Lehigh University.
