CENTER VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's cross country team placed 24
th out of 25 teams at Saturday morning's DeSales University Invitational
The Aggies had seven runners hit the 6K course and the top five combined for a score of 697 to defeat 11 other full squad teams. Dickinson College took home the team championship with 54 points, 20 better than runner-up Elizabethtown College.
There were 255 individual runners in the invitational had two place in the top 115 in senior
Sara Chamberlain and sophomore
Rachel Landis. Chamberlain was clocked in 25 minutes, 46 seconds and that was good enough for 112
th place. Landis was nine seconds and two spots behind.
Senior
Anastasia Zajchowski finished 131
st thanks to a time of 26 minutes, 25 seconds. Freshmen
Sam Landers (28:29) and
Galen Gardner (28:45) rounded out the top five for DelVal as they placed 186
th and 193
rd respectively. Sophomore
Julia Hellriegel (30:10) and senior
Ashley Vinica (44:16) also competed for the Aggies.
The individual champion was Muhlenberg College's Jamie Pacilio as she crossed the finish line in 22 minutes, 1 second.
DelVal has one more tune-up before the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships and that's at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday, October 15 (10:30 a.m.).
