GRANTHAM (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's cross country team finished in 14
th place out of 16 squads at the 2016 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship that was hosted by Messiah College on Saturday.
The Aggies had a five-man team score of 427 to top FDU-Florham (437) and Albright College (471) in the team standings. Widener University claimed its fourth straight championship as the Pride's 82 points were three better than runner-ups DeSales University and Messiah.
DelVal, which was without the services of its top runner this year in freshman
Zach Loomis, had six individuals compete in the field of 156 runners. Freshman
Colton Titus was the top finisher as his 8K time of 31 minutes, 44.9 seconds placed him 109
th in the field. Sophomore
Jacob Hart was right behind in 110
th place (five spots better than last year) with a time of 31 minutes, 45.3 seconds.

Mitchell Stage's first MAC championship saw him place 119
th (32:30.9). Junior
Kris Kline took 133
rd (33:54.4) while freshman
Kevin Naviloff (34:48.4) and junior
Leo Shinohara (37:25.8) were 135
th and 147
th respectively.
Widener's Ernie Pitone was the individual champion as he was clocked in 25 minutes, 31.8 seconds.
DelVal will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional at DeSales University on Saturday, November 12.
