GETTYSBURG (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's cross country team competed at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday and finished 17
th out of 25 full squads.
The Aggies racked up 480 points to distance itself from eight teams in the race. Susquehanna University had 50 points to capture the team crown.
Senior
Sara Chamberlain notched her best 6K time of the year as she crossed the finish line in 25 minutes, 43.2 seconds. That showing was good enough for 75
th place out of 260 competitors.
Sophomore
Rachel Landis was next for DelVal as she was 110
th with a time of 26 minutes, 40.8 seconds. Senior
Anastasia Zajchowski took 112
th with a showing of 26 minutes, 41.9 seconds while freshmen
Galen Gardner (28:35.8) and
Sam Landers (30:08.4) took 166
th and 192
nd respectively. Sophomore
Taylor Dziedzic (42:49.9) and senior
Ashley Vinica (43:23.0) also ran the course for the Aggies.
The individual champion of the invitational was a familiar name as it was independent runner Laura Moreno (22:31.1), the wife of DelVal head coach
Felix Moreno.
DelVal will next compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Saturday, October 29.
