ANNVILLE (PA) – Delaware Valley College senior standout
Alexis Maylor has been named to the inaugural Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference Team. Maylor also received the honor in the winter when she was named to the conference's indoor track and field academic squad. She will also earn a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll later this month.
While the MAC Academic Honor Roll includes all student-athletes who meet specific criteria (at least a sophomore in class standing and a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade point average), the Academic All-Conference Team was created to further recognize those who greatly succeed in both athletics and academics. Student-athletes are nominated and then voted upon by the sports information directors of the 18 institutions that make up the MAC (Commonwealth Conference, Freedom Conference, Middle Atlantic Conference).
Maylor is a biology major who graduated with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average and who will also go down as one of the top women's track and field athletes in school history. Her numerous accolade include six MAC individual championships, three MAC Field Athlete of the Year Awards, an ECAC championship and two trips to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
This past spring, Maylor won both the heptathlon and the long jump titles and received the Field Athlete of the Award at the MAC Championships. She then went on and won the ECAC heptathlon title and received a berth for her second straight NCAA appearance where she placed 14
th and broke her own school record in the event in the process.
