DELVAL MEN IN NINTH PLACE AFTER DAY TWO OF MAC TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College is in ninth place after day two of competition at the 2014 Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Widener University.

The Aggies picked up three points apiece from freshmen Ryan Brewster and Shane Bush as they finished in sixth place in their respective events.

Brewster competed in the decathlon and compiled 4,823 points over the 10 events, just one point shy of fifth place. His best showing was in the high jump where he placed fourth by clearing the bar at 5 feet, 5 inches. Brewster was also fifth in 1,500-meter run (4 minutes, 53.78 seconds), 110-meter hurdles (18.93 seconds) and the long jump (18 feet, 10.75 inches).

Bush's first trip to the MAC Championships saw him placed sixth in the high jump as he cleared the bar at exactly six feet. He just missed a spot in the 110-meter hurdle finals as his preliminary time of 16.35 seconds had him ninth.

Host Widener is running away with the team title as the Pride's 120 points is 70 more than second-place Elizabethtown College. Messiah College is third with 35 points.
